Recent travels with my camera - The Annapurna Circuit, Nepal

Following some late night drinking and travel talk over new year I rather impetuously signed up to join some friends in Nepal for part of their adventures in the himalayas.  I've never travelled to that part of the world before and was excited to discover the spirituality and grandeur of Nepal and it's people.  Our aim was to complete the Annapurna Circuit, a trek within the Annapurna mountain range of central Nepal.  Whilst the full route can be up to 230km we chose the most challenging and picturesque route culminating in the Thorung La pass rising to an altitude of 5,416m and taking us through paddy fields, subtropical forests, waterfalls, cliffs and villages.  The time of year that we chose to go meant that temperatures frequently dropped to -10 and below at night although the days were clear and cool and the trail empty - for me a worthwhile exchange!  It's not for the faint hearted but the trekking was steady and the days manageable and the tea houses offered a fire and delicious hot food and drinks.  I was also excited as this was the first outing for my new camera, a Fuji XT2, which is now my go-to camera for wedding photography but is so light and robust that it was a dream to travel with.
